As Muslims, we often focus so much on Islam’s dos and dont’s that we miss the bigger picture. Islam came to build our bond with our Creator, and while we wear our hijabs and kufis and plan big Islamic events, we delay our prayers. Islam came to establish a community of believers, but while we decorate our masjids with gold and silver, our prayer rows remain empty. i can’t explain enough how badly i want this semester to end. i’ve honestly had enough of uni work. it’s been work work work work 24/7 and my brain is going to explode. even having a 15 min break isn’t enough. even a whole day. i come back to my room and i just want to explode. i’ve been doing everything i can to not do work, just finding any excuse i can. but the other part of me is stressing out because i know what i’m doing is wrong, and it’s going to bite me up the butt. ahhhhhhh

What I realised is that, when you start looking back at the past a lot and remembering the good old days, it means your carefree days of being a child is over.
When I was a child, I rarely looked back. I was living the present. Even as a teen. I lived the moment and I was always on the move.
But it’s only been recently when I returned back from living in UAE Sharjah, did I start to fall back and feel nostalgic most of the time.
Guess this is how it feels to grow up and become an adult.
